My name is Kateri Svec, I'm from Massachusetts​ studing politics at Mount Holyoke College. I first became interested in Roma issues because my father is Roma- I can remember him bringing attention to the origin of the term "gypped". In learning about Roma I have been astonished by the continuing racism that continues to be perpetrated against the Roma people, especially in Europe.
